Coaming Pads/Cockpit Bolster

Anyone make their own Coaming Pads? I need new ones and cust ones are a fortune. The pre-made ones from Garelick don't match the boat dimensions. I was thinking of using Quilted Marine Vinyl attached to flexible PVC sheeting. Any ideas?
