Thanks for the responces. Pretty much same thing many have told me, including Capt Pat. I was thinking of the 4-53's or an equivalent, that was till I found out the parts for the old Detroits are now very hard to come by and extremely expensive. No more call a junk yard for heads and the like. I did not mind the idea of going 17knots, but if I had to wait half a season for a head that is another story.

Still if anyone knows the torque ratings on the 4-53's and Cummins 4BT's I'd like to get some sort of base line for comparisons.
