Nic,

Any diesel power over 330 HP is going to require modifying the hull with prop pockets, lowering the shaft angle to 10° to accomodate the large sized props needed to properly load the engines at full RPM.

Without those expensive modifications the B31 going to nose dive at around 29 kt and just plow water without accomplishing any more speed. (Proven by the "Grim Reaper" and a couple of more...)

330 hp will also push the B31 to it's full hull speed of 35 kt. Above that speed the handling gets dangerous...

The tried and proven best diesel power range for the B31 is 270 - 315 HP.

Br,

Patrick
