Jimmy,

I used 2 " square FB tubing from McMaster Carr and it's strong as an OX. Some guys have used aluminum also. All methods are good and strong, just a matter of preference and to some degree how long do you want it to last. It's not a money issue as the whole frame work for my cockpit cost only $335 + - Dave K
