It's possible that the info he's referring to is the fact that yanamr is no longer going to be a true engine manufacturer. At teh Miami show, I was told by a yanmar guy that they will be having their smaller engines made by BMW in Austria, marinized by Stueyer (sp?), with electronics by Teleflex and drive systems by ZF, TwinDisc and Merc. The larger engines are already being made by Scandia. They'll be more of a marketing company...
