Kevin,
The E80 is as good as Raymarine gets I believe it even has the photo charts available like the Northstar 972.
If you decide to go bigger like the 120 series and already have a pod installed you may want to look a glassing in a flat panel and flush mounting the piece.
We glassed in some flat fiberglass on about a 30 degree angle next to the helm pod on each side. With this set up we can mount units as large as 11x15 inches, and still have room for a VHF in each top corner. I am going to try the new Navman 8120 plotter/sounder. The company is the same that owns Northstar and don't be surprised if you see this same machine marketed in the Northstar "Explorer Series". If it works well I'll add another to the stbd side with the radar and have to large flat panels on either side of the pod.
