The bookstore was probably just a coincidence...

Try this:

First open Internet Explorer Tools, (top menu on yout browser), & select "Internet Options". From that dialog, open the tab labeled Privacy. Set the "Settings" for Medium. Click on Web Sites "Edit". In that dialog, type on the URL for bertram31.com & Click "Allow". Click "OK", Click "Allow" then "OK" on the "Tools" dialog.

Open Windows Explorer. Click up My Computer, then C drive, then Documents and Settings, then Owner, the Cookies. Find the cookie(s) for bertram31.com.

Delete any found.

Close WinExp & return to the bulletin board. Go to Set Preferences, set up as you want, & return to the bb index. You should be recognized...
