Greg - both the 270 (same as the old 250) and the 330 have a turbo and an aftercooler. The 6BT 210, now 220 hp has the turbo and no aftercooler. I have the 250s and they are near bulletproof. The 300-315-330 get the added hp by running the rpm up from 2600 on the 250-270 to 2800 on the 300-315, and as I remember, to 3000 on the 330.

There is all the information you ever want to know about the Cummins B series on boatdiesel.com. Consensus seems to be that running the 300s like the 250s (2400 high cruise) is the way to go, and underprop them to turn about 5% over max rated rpm with a full load.
