Frank - what I did when I wired the tuna tower on my old B25 where I had a full panel, lots of electronics, etc, on top was to find some marine grade cable with about 10 color coded #16 conductors in the cable. I ended up using 3 of those cables since I had so many circuits going up there. I put a couple of large terminal blocks under the dash downstairs and a couple more unter the console on the tower. I'd then bring each gague circuit to the downstairs terminal block, attach it, then write it down in a book what & where it was. Then took the conductors from a cable and did the same on the downstairs side going to the top, then did the same on top. Tedious, requires a lot of diagraming and bookwork, but will come out perfect every time. Not one electrical fault when done, so I made a lot of copies of the book saying what color wire in which cable went where, and it worked for years. Any time I had a fault on top, I'd just get my book out, study it, and trace the circuit and fix it. Not hard stuff, but like I said, just tedious. Try to avoid plugs in the harness, better to hard wire it. And use Penetrox dielectric grease on the screws and wire ends in the terminal strips vs. the crappy liquid electric tape that goes hard and cracks in no time. Penetrox will render the connections bulletproof for many years. Our fellow Faithful Charlie J. introduced me to the stuff years ago and it is the cat's meow.
