B100 will gel at or close to freezing if untreated. B20 (20% Biodiesel) has the same characteristics as petro diesel. I burn both in my diesel truck. I don't think there is such a thing as E diesel (at least not that I have heard). I find biodiesel to be a superior product to regular diesel. What you should be worrying about is the introduction this year of ultralow sulfur diesel. As you know, the diesel we had in the recent past was low on lubricity because the process of removing the sulphur also removes the lubricating part of the diesel. The new ultra low sulphur diesel is EVEN WORSE!! The lack of lubricity can cause accelerated wear to the injection pump and injectors. You should be using some sort of additive to help with this. As little as 2% (B2) biodiesel restores that lubricity. Also, the Cetane of biodiesel is a minimum of 48, up to a possible 80. My diesel truck is so quiet running B100 that it almost sounds like a gasser. Obviously marine use of bio would entail regular use of biocide as biodiesel is more susceptible to microbe growth. So far I don't think that is is a big problem like E10 gas. I think that the amount of Bio that this country can produce versus the amount of diesel the country consumes will always keep the concentration low enough not to cause a problem. Rawleigh
