My original post was mistaken. It is the MA that I currently have and am more familiar with. This FG appears to have a drain in the bowl, the only difference I can see is the steel cups (which I agree are an unnecessary encumberance/expense).

If anyone knows a good reason to stick with the MA's please let me know. Otherwise I see no reason to pay more for the steel protectors that I'm liable to remove anyway. Any vendor recommendations are welcome as well.
