Good evening Kevin,
Recently I installed 5 KW Westerbeke 5.0 BCG gas generator in my B31 Express. My boat is big block powered.........I mounted the genset outboard of the port engine. Granted it was a little tight but I was able to install it without disassembling the engine at all. Just removed the engine box and fiberglass around the box and set the genset right in place. Granted it is more expensive than the Honda's but it is a full blown marine unit with all of the safety features. The thing I particularly like is that this unit only turns 1800 RPM. Even without a muffler its very quiet and the low RPM makes it really smooth. As I continue to improve my boat I will add AC and a microwave and water heater.
