In Response To: Crying "Uncle" (Kipp)

Kipp - those engines ought to make her fly. I admit I was a doubter when you undertook this folly, but you have proved it works. I think you did a great job on her. Plus I own oil co. stocks.

The knock on the electronic controls is what happens if they fail when you are zooming down the bayou and can't stop. It has happened. To me a solution, or at least a safety net, would be a positive shutdown to a critical electrical component that supplies spark to the plugs. My experience with outboards is so old I don't know if they still use magnetos to make spark, but a hard wired switch to each motor that would shut them down by killing the spark (vs. fuel shutdown which might take too long) no matter what, would be an essential component.

Guys, Kipp's o/b B31 tears up the marlin.
