Those are definately the ugliest I have ever seen!! I suggest you use this POR-15 primer on any rusted items. I have used it on heavy equipment with good luck. You can paint directly over tight rust if all scale is removed and you use their cleaner on it before hand. Very tough stuff that leaves a slick surface. In the bilge you don't even have to over coat it. It is one part and is moisture cured. Follow the directions closely. Rawleigh
