Most boats have fuel shut off valves at the tank pickup.
If you don't, install them, shut off and remove the filters.

The return lines don't go thru the filter so no need to worry.

If it were me, I would toss those 500's and get new ones. They are not that much money.

Like UV said, looking at the rest of the pic, you have some serious rust issues that you better address.
