Man, those are ugly - and those tiller arms need attention too.. You are a walking commercial for Corrosion X.

The fittings in most Racors are SAE thread, not pipe thread. The metal "bowls" are for fire rating, do nothing with the filter. Supposed to make the filters not burn up in a fire in the bilge for a few minutes. Take 'em off, a pain in the butt.

If it were me, I'd take the Racors out, disassemble to the smallest part, sand blast all the big parts and paint with zinc primer and a good two part epoxy white paint. Always use white paint so you can see the leaks. Then keep them shot with Corrosion X. Replace the plastic drain that never works right with a small ball valve - the solution to draining made easy so you will do it rather than shrug your shoulders. The Racors on a diesel boat should be drained every day.
