Fuel Question

This might sound a little squeaky anal butt... what is your take on trying to salvage 250 gallons of diesel in a boat that flipped and sank for seven weeks???????????
Your initial response is always "dump it and start fresh" but....... The three reasons I may try to salvage it is because..
1) It's a lot of fuel..
2) The state of affairs here,, I talked to HAZMAT (hazar. material,, Feds.) and they need very specific containers before they will take it and sites are for contractors only, I'm may be able to get in,,, maybe.
3) The pump I bought is VERY slow (still a high dollar pump) and after pumping about ten gallons of water the fuel came out clean. The saddle tanks were good from the get go.......The boat abrubtly flipped and sank. The way I figure it.// nurse the fuel in it rather than taking on the days and high dollar of replacing and trying to locate a dump station. I have plenty of filters and the time to nurse the tanks clean through Raycor 900's and Algae X's once they start sloshing around.
What I want to know is since diesel commonly has water in the fuel from the pump,, is it any different from what I have...?
Again, my opinion is to always start fresh but,,,. I'm looking for technical knowledge since my time and funds are at a minimum here in New Orleans.
Thanks
Stan
