I have a 4KW Raytheon 41X made by JRC before the split with Raytheon with a 4' open array on top of my half tower - no problems. It sits on an aluminum plate welded into the top pipes. You can look at it in the images section here, just scroll way down to Another Joy. At the bottom of the AJ images you will see the old 2KW Raytheon open array in the boatyard pix of the paint job, then the 4KW array in the pix after the paint job at the camp. The 4KW was installed at the time the paint was done. The old 2KW 11X is on da Judge's B25 now.

Mount the array as far forward on the top as you can to prevent line of sight interference from the front of the top while running.
