Walter:

Clever idea, barrier coat is basically a high tech expoxy. Only thing I would want to be sure of, is what caused the cracks -- i.e. was it just old gelcoat that finally hit the end of its life -- which it most likely is, or, was it something else causing torqueing and stress?
