I have TAMD60Bs in my 1973 B31 Sportfish -- ditto to what everyone has said. Mine are 240hp - I cruise at 24kts burning 14GPH total. I second what Dave K. says about the aftermarket parts -- I have all Lenco coolers on my boat now for a lot less green than the Volvo coolers. If I remember right, didn't the early 41s go through gearboxes every year?

If the engines were light - i.e. Yanmar, I would think the 200hp would give you marginally acceptable cruising speed, but with a big, fat cast iron block -- not going to get up and go like those Yanmars. Mine weigh in at 1600lbs each.
