From what I understand, they were not PSS brand dripless seals. Secondly there was about a 30knot wind blowing and a nice little chop in the river. According to police and Coast Guard, there was poor cellphone and vhf reception in that particular area also. Whatever the causes, it appears that they weren't paying close attention to what was happening. 3 miles from the factory and only 18feet of water....totally senseless loss of life.
