Folks after spending much time at sea with my two Bertrams I would never risk safety for some crazy notion to simply go faster. This is not that kind of boat and was not designed for that period. If you really want to go fast your thoughts should meander to the "Go Fast " boats and leave well enough alone. Pushing the limits in this case may be fatal.

Oh by the way you Canyon guys make us Fla West Coast guys feel better. We also have the long runs and yes we have the right boats to do it. Safely and in some good degree of comfort at 20 - 25 Kts cruise.Some folks just have too much time on there hands...Leave well enough alone.
