JP:

A buddy of mine helped me install my new rub rail about6 years ago. Let me tell you, on a 31 Sportfish, you don't want to be the guy inside holding the wrench for removing the old and installing the new. The port side was not too bad to reach anything -- the starboard was a nightmare once I got inside the cabin and had to get behind the sink, etc. I still have the scars to prove I was there.

We ended up drilling out the first two and last two holes on each piece so that we could use 1/4 20s to bend the rail to shape, rather than the number 10s that the holes are predrilled for. This is, of course, assuming you bought an aluminum rub rail - if you got the plastic one you wont need to do this!
