Walter - most of us bought the GTC LT-800 from Chris, a Snap On dealer. Faithful price was about 95. The things work great for a wide variety of applications from frying fish, checking a/c, to trouble shooting cooling systems and finding a dead cylinder on a diesel. I'd suspect in light use just about any of them would do ok. Make sure it has the laser as the cone of the temp sensor is narrow. The LT-800 has a temp range from zero to about 900 F. For 39 bucks would be nice to keep on board to check anything, including sea water temp as a backup to your Dytek gague.
