The original B31 color is a kind of off white (beige looking on the chart) The brighter whites are really really white. The dark blue at a distance looks almost black so choose your colors keeping that in mind. If your doing the whole boat white any of them will work. I like the off white revisited (bad news up here is I can only get it in quarts) its got just a touch of grey in it and works well with most other colors.
Get the Awl-Grip chart and play around with the little dots its great fun and will give you an idea of how the colors work together.
The 2000 series is easier to use then the standard Awl-Grip. You will need to pay special attention to your prep work regardless of the product you use, the primer dries fast and usually has alot of stipple in it unless you can spray the high build. You will need to get it as smooth as glass that means lots of sanding. For a white boat you can get away with an initial prep to 320 grit. If you are using a dark color prep to 440 yes it makes a difference.
Expect to do at least 2 coats of the white. You will have to sand in between. I like to block sand between coats as it helps to knock down some of the inevitable little sags that occur.
Try a test area you may be able to tip off the paint with a slightly tacky (with paint) roller-this works with regular awl-grip I don't know about the awl-craft 2000. The finished effect using the roller is a light orange peel versus the tip off lines you get using a brush.
Your paint job depends wholly on your ability to manage prep work. Find the natural breaks in the boat and use them to your advantage-plan and tape your non skid patterns ahead of time and don't waste paint where nonskid is going.
Regarding 2-tone nonskid. I like it in the cockpit but feel it gets carried away if done on the whole foredeck and fly bridge. The subtle semi gloss caused by adding nonskid to base paint is usually enough of a difference to look good and be distinctive.Happy sanding (Find a friend with a pneumatic wet sander-it will save you fingerprints for sure)
