cockpit update

I have a 1985 35 Bertram that needs a cockpit, salon bulkhead update. I have found the parts premade in Miami but has anyone installed the cockpit deck, salon bulkhead and door on their boat? How big is that project? How long would it take? Is it a project better left to the boatyard or can a couple of handy guys get it done?
