Hey Uncle Vic,
July 2004 issue of Soudings hightlights Rick Fagersten's 31B (Shortie) that he repowered with 4BT-250's, ZF 63A tranny, 2-1 ratio, 21-24 prop. His performance seems close to some numbers you recently stated from AJ. (WOT 3000rpm = 31.2kts) I don't know how loaded the boat was. I can't find much info on these 4BT's. It seems that 250 horses out of 4 cyl is pushing it, but the small engines sure are a compact, maintenance freindly install. Hinckley Yacht in Stuart did the job. Any thoughts?
