Harv,

You are correct that on the earlier 31s the lifting strakes have a more pronounced upward turn towards the bow. Go to "The Legend of Bertram" book and compare the '63 model on page 26 with the 73 model on page 31.

Regarding Roland's post, I plan to send my half model to Patrick once he gets settled in Texas, and he says he'll use mine as a plug to knock off a mold for reproduction to the faithful here.
