Dug- You might want to consider cutting 1/4 or 3/8" teak pieces about an inch or two bigger than the feet of the tower and place them between the legs and the gelcoated surfaces. If you do them in the same shape as the feet, and put one on each one, they'll cover some of the stress cracks and absorb some of the pressure so as not to get more. Of course, you'll want backing plates, too. I have found that unless you have really solid surfaces you're going through, the lack of flex of metal in a backing plate behind a surface that does have some flex causes your problem. I also recommend rounding the corners of your bridge backing plates. Sharp corners can do it, too. Walter
