JJ,

When I did my salon bulkhead I listened to what Patrick offered. Of course that was 1/2" marine to be laminated. One thinned coat of epoxy was applied first to penetrate the wood.(75% epoxy, 25% Denatured Alcohol. Then I applied my first coat of full strength epoxy within or about 2 hours after the first thinned coat. Then 2 hours later the last regular coat with cloth. The laminated side was simply a thickened trialed coat of epoxy was used as the adhesive for the laminate (Formica , counter top material On the aft bulkhead just step one (thinned), step two, then step three with the cloth. You must seal the ends real good. The trick I found to be helpful was using surgical glue in dabs to initially hold the cloth in place on the edges then using wax paper and lead weights with straight edges and clamps underneith to hold the cloth in place on a tight wrap around the ends. Best way is to vaccum bag it. You will have to practice this technique a little. Refer to the "Boat Building Tips " section under Vaccum Bagging. Main thing here is to cover it well with no air bubbles for maximum adhesion and strength. Just a little practice that's all. Dave K
