I have a 65 SF and I installed Capt. Patrick's rudders. My tiller arms were foward like yours. What I did was on the tiller arm that had two holes I shortened it cutting the second hole off and it fit pointing aft. Then I took a piece of 8/4 mahogany and epoxied it to the transom, using the through bolts for the transom zincs to secure it.Mounted my steering ram on that. Made my own tie bar from stainless tube with 1/2 ID welded 1/2" S/S threaded rod for the ends. welded a tab on to accomidate the ram, and auto pilot at a later date. Try to keep the ram as level as possible. Have fun.
