Not even worth discussion. Go with the half tower if you want it. It is night and day between that and the bimini.

The bimini is nice, and yes, you can open up the top like a convertible, but the hardtop just provides so much more protection and places to have electronics.

I recommend Marine Metal Fabricators of Rhode Island. They really do a great job. Rick Weller is the owners name and they are one of the most experienced and well priced I know. They have extensive experience with Bertram 31's.
