Half Tower Enclosure

I am thinking about putting a half tower on our B31 instead of a bimini top. We are doing a total refit and the entire boat has been repaired and repainted. I would just hate to put a bunch of holes in the boat for a bimini top (not to mention the expense) only to switch to a hard top in a few years. Any thoughts on putting a half tower on the B31? I also need to redo my bridge seating and rails. What have been others' experience in terms of costs, usefulness, etc. Has anyone worked with a good fabricator on Long Island? Its a big decision and I'm looking for some input from the faithful. Thanks.
