OB is on the North side of the island and is 90 Nautical Miles from Montauk. Not a bad run, just the 30 Nm from Block to Vineyard Sound can get a little choppy.
Come on guys, we would like to have close to 100 people for dinner so I can get the East Chop Beach Club on the other side of the harbor. Nice place, private club that will be completely ours for the night. Thinking about Catered Cookout on the beach/deck, and bring your own drinks and have a few bartenders to mix um up. The ballroom with be opened for awards, bad weather, or whatever. Short walk from the slips (say ¼ mile) and you pass a liquor store on the way. Or just take the dingy across the harbor. For those who will have difficulty making the walk, I will have a few cars that can pick up and drop people off.
The only catch is the more people the cheaper the dinner will be, but if we get 100 people I am thinking $50 bucks for adults that want the cookout, $30 for those who wish to cook there own food, and like $20 for small children. I don’t think it will be that hard to get 100. Between myself, and others who own Bertrams in each chop, and Timmy’s group, we got 20-25 already. If we get 15-20 boats and visitors who fly in, I think we can do it. Oh and Mitch any help on dinner would be great, it’s just that the Beach Club would be an amazing place to have it.
