Dave - I just use warm water and Dawn in a 5 gallon bucket, lightly hit them with a soft brush, then hang them out to dry. Then spray with the red K&N oil. Tony Athens says you don't need to clean them but about every 1,000 hours since they work better when they get a little dirty. I did mine after a couple hundred hours just to see how to do it. Easy as pie with the Dawn.
