Sounds like a good idea to me..... Get rid of that 40 year old iron. (Around here, in the N.E. those outdrives are worth some money.) Alot of work though. cummins 4 bgr with Bravo III. New transom,engine beds,fuel system,harness,controls,guages. Go for it. There's alot of experts around here that would be glad to walk you through the whole project. The vibration and noise will not be a major issue, just a difference. Just my opinion, I could be wrong...... Have fun
