4bt in a B20

I talked to a guy who has a cummins 4bt with minimum hours that he suggests would work great in my B20.My buddy that I fish with says no that it would be too loud or it may be have too much vibration in such a small boat.It is presently powered by the original '66 omc 200hp which has been rebuilt top to bottom(5-10 years ago but very few hours} the hull has been totally rebuilt and now proceeding with the nonskid on deck but if I'm going to repower nows the time.I do realize I would have to replace the outdrive as well and it has recently been rebuilt as well. Any advice and input would be appreciated.Thanks
