I have Cummins B series 210's in my B-31 with straight non-mufflered pipes going to the transom. Back when I had Chryslers and was repowering, Chrysler wouldn't warranty the new engines unless I enlarged the exhaust system. Seems they were burning out their rear valves. When we figured out what the new engines with the new exhaust system would cost, It came to what diesels that would accept my present diameter exhaust would cost. A no-brainer that I have never been sorry about. I haven't found them to be exceptionally noisy. They give maximum performance because there's no back pressure. Walter
