Velvet Clunk

I have velvet drive 1.52 reduction transmissions on my B28. The stbd side "clunks" when I put it in reverse, smooth in forward. The port side is smooth in both directions. There is no vibration and once in reverse it behaves normally. Is this a sign of things to come? How much should I worry about this?
