I'm trying to figure out the gas in the boat. Some is at US$3.99, some @3.29,some @2.99,some @2.35. The 2.35 gas was put in plastic cans from the gas station, not the marina.(Yes, we do what we have to).

The question is this: as the fuel is burned, should we use "first in, first out" or Last in,last out"?? Will the older fuel create a problem? Is there a tax advantage?? What?

Is this a mechanical situation or a tax shelter?
