In Response To: colored epoxy (phil)

Phil,

When I was doing my pulpit repair last spring, I added some brown pigment to epoxy (West System) thickened with cabosil. After sanding, adding clear epoxy, and then varnishing, it was almost undetectable compared to the rest of the wood on the pulpit. I am unsure of the results you would get on a finished coating, but beleive it can be done. Go into any marine supply and get the West System's application guide. It's about a 20 page booklet that gives product, instruction and application suggestions and tips. I beleive there was a topic about adding pigments and the applications.
