If it were my boat and it just almost sank???? I would rewire all my bilge pumps with continuous runs as short as you can make them, directly to the battery or a buss bar directly to the battery. with seperate high water switchs to alarms or lights on the dash. Done, don't have to worry. I don't have switches, more conections, more wiring. Keep it simple, pump, float switch, fuse. keep em clean with dilectric grease and check em regular. That's just me, I may be wrong.
