The loading and unloading is simple. They sink the ship and the boats are driven on and tied off to each other and the ships hull. Divers go down and weld supports under the boats, then the water is pumped out of the ship. Part of the requirements is that you have to send hull drawings so they can engineer the supports. (Thanks Patrick for the drawings)
Once the ship arrives at the destination, they block the boats up on cross ties and temporary jack stands. You walk around under your boat for inspections, and the next day they sink the ship. Divers enter the water and remove the jack stands and ties. They give the instruction to start the engines and you drive off when your name is called. Pretty easy process from the boats standpoint.
