I found out exactly what you learned. I took apart my bow rail and took parts with me to go shopping. What I found was exacly what you said. I would have to MarineTex every hole as the newer parts use smaller grade screws. And on top of that, the parts are not as thick and didn't look as if they had the same quality as the originals.

Are there any S. Florida folks out there who can recommend a local "chromery"?
