Chiles,
I got out my multimeter, recalibrated the ohm meter and checked the wire. To my utter amazement, the resistence is "0". I would have sworn the discoloration on the outer insulation of the wire was a burn mark from the wire getting too hot.
The next step for me will be to check the resistence in several of the longer wires to get an idea of the condition of some of the other longer stock wires. If I make extension wires with alligator clips coming off of the leads on my multimeter so that I can test wires that are several feet in length, will that still give me an accurate ohm reading as long as I calibrate the ohm meter after attaching the extension wires?
Thanks in advance for all the help.
Sincerely,
JohnV8r
