I have a total of three bilge pumps. Two are operated by float switches and are located as follows: One under the main cabin floor about parallel with the storage under the sink; the other one is located at the transom.

The third bilge pump is a diaphram pump that located under the forward seat of the settee. It has a long section of flexible tubing and I use that pump to pump out the very last of the water in the bilge. It is not connected to a float switch.
