Fuel Problem

I picked up a copy of Noreast Saltwater magazine at the NY Boat Show today. There is an article about a mechanic from Long Island who thought someone may have vandalized a customers boat (a Bertram) after finding a gummy substance in the engine. The police were notified and the substance was sent to the crime lab. The substance was identified by the lab as fiberglass resin from the deteriorating fuel tank.
