JJ - sure, the 1.75" is a stock item, no problem to get them. As far as the hp rating of the gear, you will have to check with the gear mfg. For example, I have the ZF IRM 220A's on my Cummins 6BTA 250's and the 220A's are rated for 360 hp.

You can probably get by fine with 1.5" shafts, but if you are going to change out the running gear anyway, go with the 1.75" - price diff. is not worth worrying about.
