Changing manifolds on 28B's is a real pain in the a$$. Little rome to work outboard. I am not a fan of RWC. By the way the saltwater does go through the engine block. The blocks don't rot; but the manifolds do. My FWC 302's went through two sets of risers; but the manifolds were in great condition. They only see antifreeze. The rudder tables are a weak point; but easy to fix. The wood holding the shaft logs can also be a weak point. Not a big deal to fix; just a really dirty job with all the grinding required. The stock water was under the saloon floor and it was aluminum. The rear bulkheads look bad; but again an easy fix. My suggestion is to find a boat with good motors and very clean hull. The topsides are always going to be rough on a 33 year old boat. I looked at lots of boats and I have to tell you there is a huge difference between a boat from the north and a sun beat, hurrican banged southern boat. The yankee boats have an easy life. They usually have fewer hull hours because of shorter seasons and the gelcoat is always much fresher. I have looked at probably 150 28B's both FLA and the "cold zone". Plus I have truned wrenches on my fair share. I woould keep look'in. Send me the pics.
Merry Christmas
Charlie
