JJ,
Thanks!
Cabin sole is a Teak and Holley plywood venier. Wasn't very hard to find, I bought 2 sheets of 4 x 8' from a supplier in florida. I went with 5/16" thick plywood, but it is available in many other sizes. Most local lumber yards can get or carry teak and holley venier plywood. I had a little more trouble finding it in 5/16" so I paid a extra and had it shipped from FLA.
The trick to making it look right is in finishing it correctly. I used AwlBrite Plus, 13 coats with some mild sanding in between. Took about 2 weeks to finish, and you can't use Awlbrite without a ventilated booth and proper resperators.
There are probably other products that make the application less critical, but the AwlBrite is on it's 5th season in the LightningShack and it still looks beautiful.
Very durable, no yellowing, but a little slippery when it gets wet. I was in there the other day with some snow on my feet... it was like an ice rink.
quite pricey too. I think I spent more on coatings then I did lumber, Full blown retail was over ~$250/half gallon.
thanks again...
and good luck
